NOW WHAT?
Can I see the medical provider of my choice?
Yes. You have the right to be treated by medical providers of your choice.
You may see a chiropractor, naturopath, acupuncturist, osteopath, medical doctor, physical therapist, massage therapist or any other licensed medical provider. The insurance company cannot tell you who to see.
How will my medical expenses be paid?
Your automobile insurance policy provides personal injury protection (PIP) Benefits. PIP pays all of your medical bills from the motor vehicle collision. PIP will also pay your bills is you are a pedestrian or bicyclist injured by a car. You are entitled to PIP regardless of who was at fault.
The insurance company will be for the medical care necessary to treat your injuries. PIP policies will pay your medical bills for the first year, up to a maximum of $15,000. Some policies have higher limits.
How can I best help my recovery?
First, let your medical provider know about all the injuries and discomfort you have because of the collision.
Second, tell your medical provider about any similar pain you have had in the past, even if you had a full recovery. The information will allow your medical provider to better understand your injury and establish the best treatment plan.
Make a full recovery your first priority.
If you follow your medical provider's advice, keep your appointments, and do your home exercises,
you will be doing everything you can to have a full recovery.
